A number of products, including machinery, may only be imported into the Russian Federation and the CIS states if the importer can furnish a type-examination certificate issued by a body accredited by the Moscow-based GOST agency.

Personal Protective Equipment
The testing body of the "Expert Committee for Personal Protective Equipment" is one of the few accredited bodies in
the European Union to conduct type examinations for personal protective equipment on the basis of Russian
standards.
