Development of a catching harness with a higher degree of acceptance

Project No. BG10 #018

Status:

completed 12/1997

Aims:

Serious injuries as a consequence of fall accidents because harnesses were not worn; a preliminary project exposed ergonomic deficiencies which had a negative influence on acceptance. Goal: development of a catching harness with integrated fall cushioning which, as a result of its construction and weight, leads to a considerable increase in user acceptance.

Activities/Methods:

Development on the basis of the fall geometry results and impact load and subjective details concerning comfort
