Intelligent Technical Systems and Working Environment

This section of the department Accident Prevention: Digitalisation - Technologies is concerned with protective devices and control systems (electronics, sensors, computer technology, fluid technology).

The focal points in the field of protective devices are:

• Testing/certifying, researching and consulting on electro sensitive protective devices, such as light barriers, light curtains , laser scanners (PDF, 282 kB, non-accessible) , vision systems, ultrasonic protective devices, protective devices using transponder technology (PDF, 135 kB, non-accessible)
• Testing/certifying pressure sensitive mats, pressure sensitive floors, pressure sensitive edges, pressure sensitive buffers
• Devising test guidelines and cooperating in the relevant standardisation bodies

The focal points in the field of control systems are:

• Testing/certifying, researching and advising on electronic safety components and controls, computer technology (eg: safety-related programmable logic controllers), safety-related bus systems, hydraulic controls, pneumatic controls
• Testing/certifying logical units for two-hand controls
• Devising test guidelines and cooperating in the relevant standardisation bodies
